    * Scarab has small scuffs, scrapes, dings, dents, dust dirt light patina as well from being desplayed, there old and all have defects and are not perfect in any way, all from this huge collection of Egyptian scarab, the stone has been painted black as well to enhance it's look, and the soap stone is seen through that, see all pictures,

    Some Info about the Scarab:
    Scarab, a particular specie of beetle, (the dung beetle)
    (Scarabeus sacer) Is found
    in many Egyptian amulets and art forms
    .
    The scarab is a very scared symbol that can be likened to the cross in Christians key of life.
    It represents the concepts of self-generation, rebirth, renewal and resurrection to the afterlife.
    It has a variety of use including recording material for important events and inscribing prayers placed on the mummies to
    protect the dead from evil.
    It was also used as a stamp seals by officials. Scarabs may be made from a variety of materials including Carnelian, Emerald,
    Ruby,
    Blue Sapphare,
    Lapis lazuli,
    Amethyst,
    Basalt, Faience glazed clay, Limestone and Bronze.
