Description
This doll kit is from the estate of my grandmother who was a doll maker and collector. The pieces have never been used and have been carefully stored for at least 20 years. This doll is a v
ery cute reproduction of a German Gebruder Heubach doll named "Baby Stuart". The original doll was designed from a painting of the baby of Mary Queen of Scots. The doll was also reproduced by the famous doll maker, Emma Clear.
These doll parts are unglazed bisque porcelain. The delicate painting of the face is nicely done with reflection in the eyes, softly tinted cheeks, and a litttle rosebud mouth. He is wearing a molded white baby cap. The porcelain forearms arms have defined fingers and thumb. The legs are traditional antique style with flat feet and little gold-trimmed blue shoes. It is a very nice quality doll that will be fabulous when dressed in baby clothes.
